Day 3 - Schlitterbahn (APS)

Hall and I got up early and went for a run through the streets of San Antonio while the kids had the opportunity to sleep in a bit. After breakfast we headed out to New Braunfels to spend the day at the Schlitterbahn- world's best water park!  The weather looked a bit iffy but we were hoping that might keep some people away and keep the waiting to a minimum. We did the 3 newest rides first and the were so much fun!  One was a water roller coaster that actually went uphill several times!  It started to rain but we weren't too worried since we were already wet. Soon after we did the 3rd ride, the park closed due to lightening. As we waited for the weather to clear out,, we ate lunch and enjoyed "people watching."  About an hour later, the park opened again and the skies were blue for the rest of the day!  It was perfect- beautiful weather, small crowds, etc...  After a full day at the park, we headed back to San Antonio. Hall and Jack went to the Alamo while the girls and I showered for dinner.   We ate at "The Original Mexican Restaurant" on the Riverwalk and it was excellent (and now holds top honors as our best meal so far)!  After dinner we headed back to the hotel and everyone crashed!  I think we were all asleep by 9:30!  Tomorrow we head to Waco where Hall spent most of his favorite "growing up" years and we can't wait to see the Wheelis and Davis clans!  Along the way, we'll make a quick stop in Austin.
