Day 2- San Antonio (APS)

With an 8 hour drive ahead of us, we ate a good breakfast, left New Orleans and headed to one of my most favorite places on earth - San Antonio!  Along the way, we stopped by LSU and toured the campus since we will need to be thinking about colleges in the coming years. I had never been there and it was beautiful!  MC showed a lot of interest - beautiful campus, really amazing softball facility and it's in the SEC. Hall did well to keep his Auburn comments to a minimum and actually was quite impressed too!  We arrived in San Antonio at 5:30 and checked into our beautiful hotel right on the Riverwalk. We set out to explore the city and the kids quickly learned why this is one of the coolest cities anywhere!   We took a boat tour that filled us in on a lot of the history and then set out to find a place for dinner. We ate at Casa Rio right along the Riverwalk and enjoyed a beautiful night. We then went exploring a bit and saw the Alamo but it was closed so we will go back tomorrow. After arriving back at the hotel, Lil and Hall decided to turn in while MC and I took Jack to the rooftop pool- we couldn't resist!  He swam until about 11p.m. and made a few new friends. Big day tomorrow- Schlitterbahn Water Park!
